Tatonduk Outfitters Limited is owned and
operated by life-long Alaskan Robert W. Everts. Serving Interior Alaska
since 1978, the company is the parent corporation for Everts Air Alaska
and Everts Air Cargo.
Robert’s career in aviation began while
working for his father, Clifford R. Everts, a 35-year veteran of Wien
Airlines and owner of Everts Air Fuel, Inc. Robert graduated from Embry
Riddle Aeronautical University in 1984 with a B.S. in Aeronautical
Science. He purchased Tatonduk Outfitters Limited in 1993.
Everts Air Alaska formerly Tatonduk
Flying Service was originally established in 1977 in the Village of
Eagle. The first aircraft was a Cessna 180 with wheel and ski
capabilities. In the beginning years it was a charter-only service,
providing air transportation for miners, trappers, and explorers. In 1985
the company began scheduled service between Fairbanks and Eagle. Today,
Everts operates throughout Interior Alaska.
The sister company to Everts Air Alaska
is Everts Air Cargo formerly Air Cargo Express, a company that truly reflects the
spirit and history of aviation in Alaska. Everts Air Cargo is an
all-cargo airline operating DC-6 and C-46 aircraft throughout Alaska.
These aircraft were used in World War II and subsequent military and
civilian service, and were converted to some of the best cargo planes ever
to be flown in Alaska. Given the remoteness and inaccessibility of a
majority of Alaska’s communities, the services Everts Air Cargo provides
are invaluable. The company provides affordable, scheduled air cargo
transportation to 19 communities in Alaska, including Anchorage, Aniak,
Barrow, Bethel, Dillingham, Emmonak, Galena, Iliamna, King
Salmon, Kotzebue, Nome, St. Mary’s, Fairbanks, Juneau, Sitka, Ketchikan,
Petersberg, Wrangell and Unalakleet. Everts Air Cargo also
offers charter and flag-stop services, and the special handling of
hazardous materials and oversized shipments.
The company has made a commitment to continue developing its business in
Interior Alaska and maintaining its headquarters and core operation in
Fairbanks, rather than relocate as other air carriers have done. As
Tatonduk Outfitters Limited continues to grow, future business
opportunities will be developed that will enhance not only the Fairbanks
economy, but that of the state as well. |
